Textruta: Sumspotter with an image of the sun
Textruta: SUNSPOTTER

A safe solar telescope for e.g. schools, astronomical associations and science centres.

Sunspotter is made by Science First,  the same company that makes STARLAB planetariums

Sunspotter works in a way, that an image of the sun projects via three mirrors and an eye piece onto a sheet of paper. You can use it to make drawings of the sunspots. Sunspots will move on the solar disc due to the sun's rotation, so by repeated observations it is possible to determine the rotation speed of the sun. Sunspotter is easy to set up and align.

Technical specifications:

Refractor telescope with 700 mm. focal length. The focal length of the eye piece is 12.5 mm. with four elements. The telescope has a fixed focus with a total length of 875 mm.

The field of view is 0.75 degrees, or 1.5 solar diametres.

The size of the solar image is about 85 mm.

Altitud: 0 - 90 degrees.
